Hello!

I’m JD, a writer and lover of paranormal/fantasy romance. My love for magic, sexy vampires, and shifters began with my favorite authors: Sherrilyn Kenyon and J.R. Ward. TV shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer added to my ‘fang’ girl obsession. No, don’t ask me to choose between Angel or Spike. Not happenin’.

I haven’t always followed my dream of writing. Sadly, I neglected my creative side and ignored the voices inside my head. Let’s just say, chaos erupted. Fortunately, when I met my best friend and fellow author, L.W. Phillips, my love for storytelling ignited. Along with my peep, we attended writing conferences, workshops, and DragonCon. DCON definitely got the creative juices flowing!

Just like anything worth having, there were struggles and set backs. My broken dominate hand and wrist hindered the writing for a bit. FYI: maybe skip roller skating over the age of 50. Just sayin’.

Anyway, I digress…breathe in, breathe out. Yeah, much better.

Now, I’m completing my debut novel, Spellfire Coven Book 1: Bewitching Her Mate. I can’t wait to share it with you in the near future!

All of this is possible with the support and encouragement from my husband, tight friends, fellow authors, and critique group.

When I’m not writing or wrangling my four crazy cats, you’ll most likely find me doing one of the below:

1) reading a book while lounging on the couch or back porch with my hubby.

2) enjoying time with family – grown children and grands.

3) enjoying a walk or hike.

4) rocking out at a concert (fav: Def Leppard).

5) talking books with my bestie.

6) watching favorite TV (Buffy, Parks&Rec, Modern Family) , movies (LOTR, HP, Rat Race) ( or Youtube channel (Sarra Cannon).
